Reviewing The New Levo 2 – making Amazing Cannabis Chocolate Chip Cookies

The reason I ended up going out and getting the Levo 2 was because I wanted a way to enjoy my freshly home grown weed without just smoking it.

After you smoke a few times you realize the feeling comes on fast but doesn’t last. Whether you are feeling crummy and need a pick me up, or you have a free afternoon that you want to let relax and turn into a potato, having marijuanas effects last longer than an hour or two is welcomed.

This is where edibles come in. They take longer to hit but in turn last a lot longer. Another benefit to making edibles is your weed gets stretched further.

If you can grow quality cannabis, than you can make 10-20 mg cookies with as little as a quarter ounce of cannabis. A quarter ounce can make multiple sticks of butter. Each stick of butter can make a couple dozen cookies. See where this is going?

How is this possible?

When you use the Levo 2 it extracts all the THC, CBD, cannabinoids, and everything you want out into the oil or substance you infuse it with. When the body ingests marijuana it interacts differently than when you smoke it. As a result, the same amount of flower goes further than smoking.

With that being said I set out to test out the Levo and see if it is as good as the reviews say and make some cookies that you wouldn’t know where weed cookies because they taste delicious.

Levo 2

Don’t worry if you aren’t a baker.

I found a great cookie mix that extremely easy and a way to make your oil that masks marijuana’s potent taste that can be noticed in edibles.

Buying the Levo 2

I started by purchasing the Levo 2 on amazon. If you want to help the page out click HERE and purchase through the link.

I also added an additional pod for making more potent infusions and a press to make sure I got every ounce of the good stuff out. I also purchased some butter molds.

I like to make my butter using unrefined coconut oil and then turning it into butter. One batch of coconut oil can make roughly five sticks of butter so it is best to get two sets of molds.

Why use unrefined coconut oil?

Most recipes and people use refined coconut oil because the process of refining it removes the coconut taste. If you were cooking with the coconut oil I would suggest this.

However, I planned to make cookies with my oil. If you are baking any delicious treat, coconut can be an awesome added flavor. Trust me it is delicious in the cookies I made.

Using the Levo 2

Once everything arrived it was honestly pretty easy to setup. I washed all the removable parts and put the pieces into the necessary spots.

Press and hold the power button to turn it on. Since we grow our own cannabis or CBD and have it stored in mason jars, we need to decarb the flower first.

This process takes time and a precise temperature to activate the good parts of your buds. The unit actually does a better job containing the smell which often when using the oven can smell up the place.

Figured I’d mention that if you don’t want your neighbors knowing what you are cooking up.

Then you open the unit, add in the coconut oil which is like a soft solid state. It isn’t a liquid, but it isn’t solid. Kind of like smooth peanut butter texture until it warms up and turns into a liquid.

I fill my reservoir with 30oz of coconut oil, seal it up, select infuse and let it go for 3-4 hours at a temperature around 160ish Fahrenheit.

Once the oil is done being infused I poor it into a measuring cup and let it cool for a bit. Now it is time to make the coconut oil butter.

Making Cannabutter with Coconut Oil

You can also take normal butter, melt it in the Levo and infuse the cannabis or CBD into it. Then let it cool in the mold to reform. I felt making it into the coconut oil made it easier to control the amount I make and the potency.

Not only that, but the coconut oil butter makes cookies that actually taste amazing. You have to be careful though. The urge to grab another can be tempting but you will melt into your sofa for hours….. so be careful.

Ok to the recipe. The recipe I am giving makes a full reservoir of coconut oil in a Levo 2. One reservoir makes roughly five sticks of Cannabutter with the recipe I provide.

If you want to make half or a ¼ batch, simply take half of each measurement or a quarter of each measure to keep the ratios equal. You need a few ingredients to mix together to make the coconut oil butter:

Cannabutter Recipe with Levo 2

What you want to do is before the coconut oil is solid but not hot and directly after infusion on the Levo 2, combine olive oil, salt, nutritional yeast, and cannabis or CBD infused coconut oil.

In a separate bowl, you will want to combine room temp soy milk and apple cider vinegar. Stir them together and let combine for a few minutes.

Once curdle, after about 2-3 minutes, combine with the other mixture. Blend or mix until smooth. Pour mixture into butter molds and place into freezer.

After about 6 hours the butter should be formed and safe to use.

Sometimes you may have some liquid that settles out in the bottom of the molds. I drain that off and then wrap the butter sticks in wax paper and plastic wrap.

The sticks you don’t plan to use for some time can be kept in the freezer for months. Leave a stick out to make a few cookies. Remember the coconut oil is semi solid at room temp. Anything colder will make it more of a solid state.

Making the Cannabis Cookies

A friend of ours actually told us about this cookie mix. I found the cookie mix actually makes a good tasting cookie which was a good start.

If you are making edibles, sure they are intended to deliver a feeling, but why not have it taste good and be a treat too?

I saw gluten free on the package and how few ingredients were needed mixed with the mix and was instantly skeptical. I made a batch with just normal coconut butter using my recipe less the weed infused coconut oil.

Turns out and tasted pretty damn good. Honestly the batch of cookies we made were destroyed in no less than a few days. If they had pot in them I wouldn’t have moved from the sofa for a day.

Bob’s Red Mill Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix

Gluten free and actually tastes amazing. Best yet with the coconut butter sticks it makes a soft fluffy cookie!

The reason this mix is the way to go is not because it is a gluten free mix, but because it requires exactly a stick of butter and a few other wet ingredients.

You take your Cannabutter we made above out to be room temperature and more soft.

Add all the ingredients together and mix. You can make exactly 24 cookies or you can make 20 slightly bigger cookies.

This makes knowing how strong the cookies much easier. If you put a certain amount of weed or CBD in and make 4 or 5 sticks of butter to make 20 cookies you can use a formula based on the amount of CBD or THC in the cannabis.

Recap

All in all the Levo 2 makes it easy to take your home grown cannabis or CBD and turn it into edibles. Take the guess work, smell out of making edibles and make the extraction process more exact enabling you to get more THC, CBD, cannabinoids, and all the good stuff out of your bud.

When infusing for making some delicious edible treats I prefer to use unrefined coconut oil because it has a little coconut flavor making your cookies, brownies or whatever tasting that much more delicious. This helps remove the sometimes-noticeable taste of weed in your edible as marijuana has a distinguishable and sometimes bitter taste.

If you follow our easy step by step guide to growing your own weed and partner it with your Levo 2 you will have an endless supply of edibles. The equipment pays for itself after only one or two grows. As you become more comfortable you can be harvesting every two to three months indoors, year round, and cranking that Levo 2 making boat loads of cannabis cookies. You will be the popular person handing out the goodies at gathering 🙂
