Marijuana Growing Supplies – What You Need To Grow Weed Indoors

The basic Indoor grow setup

When you are first getting into growing you might do some looking online and see all these different people talking about “nutes,” “hydroponics” or some other variety of marijuana growing supplies. Similarly, there are many things you can buy to help you grow weed, but that doesn’t mean it makes it simple. To grow weed indoors and keep it simple I have listed out what I learned over repeated grows.

So, let’s get right into it…..

LST Weed Plant

Trust me, put that out of your head. Even if you have a green thumb you don’t jump into a championship game your first time at bat.

Chill.

Once you get your first grow or two under your belt you can start to experiment with trimming, nutrients, and hydroponics.

This list is about as simple and straightforward as it gets for marijuana growing supplies needed to grow indoors.

These materials will help you get at an ounce a plant minimum or more.

In addition, plants take about two to three plus months from seed to harvest, so do the math; it’s worth it. There is nothing worse than getting a few weeks, months, or right at the end of the grow only to mess something up and waste all that time.

Stick to the basics, get the basic materials and start experimenting when you have some experience.

I will list out everything you could get for your first grow, and you will see in the pictures that I add that I have bought all of these myself. For how simple steps to getting started growing make sure to check out my other Grow Guides.

Be careful there are a lot of knock off cheap lights and marijuana growing supplies that will directly impact what you get when the day comes to chop your plant down. I will label the initial list of stuff I bought with three categories:

Need – You need to have this from day one

Useful – You most likely want to have this day one but could be reasons you don’t

Extra – You don’t reaaaaalllllly need this but it will certainly help things

Initial Tent Grow – Indoor

Need:

AC Infinity Grow tent 48x48x80″

Big enough for 4 medium plants or 2 larger sized

Thermometer / hygrometer

Timer surge protector

Easily set one side for always on like your fans and exhaust fan while the other side is set to a timer for your light schedules and anything else that needs to be on the same schedule

3-gallon fabric grow bag 5 pack

Fabric pots are great for air pruning and keeping your roots healthy, shielding from over watering, breathable to prevent roots sitting in over watered environment, and reusable.

You could also do 5 gallon bags if you plan on having fewer plants but letting more time to grow (more on this in the Easy Grow Guide)

5-gallon fabric grow bag 5 pack

Oscillating fan

You want moving air. It not only hardens the plant, but it moves the CO2, air, and helps fight mold/powdery mildew and other diseases which can occur in stagnant air. Also, doubles as a real fan. Shocking I know. Hot days can use it in a pinch to vent the hot air in the grow tent out.

This is the secret ingredient to a flawless and almost maintenance free grow. This blend is specifically designed for growing Marijuana and to support a multi month grow. In theory you could use this soil and just add water (yes, I have tried it).

Soil – Coast of Maine Stonington Blend

Pruning Sheers

These will be used for trimming dead leaves, prepping your buds for curing, harvesting and all throughout the grow.

Useful to grow weed indoors:

Carbon scrubber

This is huge to partner with the exhaust fan and ducting. It is honestly shocking how when you place this scrubber in a grow tent how well this eliminates the smell.

Ducting

This is to connect the carbon scrubber to the exhaust and then out of the tent.

AC Infinity Exhaust fan for Grow Tent

The cheaper options are louder and break in my opinion. This is quality all around. Worth the extra bucks

Carabiner clips

For hanging lights and pulleys

Clip-on fan to circulate air in Grow Tent

Usually you put the oscillating fan on the bottom and clip this to the middle or top of tent to keep airflow evenly throughout the tent

Adjustable rope clips – extras

As you kit out your tent and add things you will need more of these to easily list and adjust heights to keep proper distances as your plants grow

1200W LED Light

This comes with adjustable rope clips and hygrometer/ thermometer to cut costs

Exhale 365 – CO2 bag

Add additional CO2 to assure healthy plants and optimal levels for all the light and nutrients the plant is getting. This will lead to bigger yields.

Extras:

Smart Plug – (2 pack)

Sometimes it is nice to be able to control things remotely

Sprayer/ Mister

I hope the need for this one doesn’t need explaining but for early stages misting your plants is a good thing. Also, later stages should you battle powdery mildew or bugs, you can mix with some all natural deterrents (further down on this list).

Jiffy cubes – (only if starting from seed)

In fact, I have yet to have a seed not sprout this way. Simple as that.

Natural Spray for mildew, bugs and other stuff

Whether you are growing indoors and hit a humid environment, have bugs, planting outside and have any of the above issues or more take a look at this. Well worth the money.

Duck tape

Just like any project sometimes you just need it and it fixes everything

Lastly, Upgraded lights but cost more -$125 per and probably need 2 or 3 depending on size of tent
